One thing that happened between 1025 and 1076 was the schism between the Byzantine Orthodox Church and the Latin Church of Rome. This occurred in 1054. It was partly theological over the Filioque clause which was inserted by the Latin Church into the Nicene creed which was considered unauthorised by the Byzantines.
