Answer:

The sympathetic nervous system.

Explanation:

The sympathetic nervous system prepares the body to respond quickly to external stimulation or to situations that require alertness or strength, such as situations that arouse fear, anger, excitement or shame (situations of "fight or flight"). In this type of situation, the sympathetic nervous system stimulates the heart muscles to increase the heart rate and thus increases the rate with which oxygen and nutrients are sent to the blood, dilating the bronchi of the lungs (increases oxygen retention ) and causes the dilation of blood vessels that supply the heart and skeletal muscles (increasing the blood supply). The sympathetic system innervates the sweat glands and when the body is under situations of anxiety or stress stimulates them causing perspire to occur.

A population of white rabbits and brown rabbits both live in a temperate deciduous forest where the summers are mild and average
Svetach [21]

Answer:

Q: ...what do you expect to happen to the population of each color of rabbit?

A: The white rabbit population may slowly die off while the brown rabbit population thrives and reproduces.

Explanation:

The white rabbits are well adapted to survival in cold winter months and snowfall, where they may camouflage effectively to avoid predation. However, the brown rabbits, more adapted to warmer periods in the fall, spring and summer in the temperate deciduous forest; the trees lose their leaves before cold seasons.

Leaf litter and foliage in warmer months likely provides better camouflage for brown rabbits. Camouflage is an adaptation to predation; the rabbits blend into surrounding colors, textures and patterns to avoid detection.  In the onset of shorter winters, the white rabbits will be unable to avoid predators without snow to blend into; they would contrast with their surroundings making them easy targets to be hunted. Thus, with extended periods of warm temperatures, brown rabbits are more likely to survive and reproduce leading to a thriving population.

Why shouldn't you have more than one<br> independent variable
quester [9]
There are often not more than one or two independent variables tested in an experiment, otherwise it is difficult to determine the influence of each upon the final results. There may be several dependent variables, because manipulating the independent variable can influence many different things.
