The first step is the surface area of the semicircle.

Surface area of a circle = πr²

                                        = π × 13²

                                        = 530.929 ft²

Since the semicircle, we divide this by 2.

S.A of the parachute =  530.929/2

                                    = 265.4645 ft²

To get the fabric is needed for each color we divide this by 3.

Fabric needed for each color =  265.4645/3

                                                 = 88.488 ft²

To the nearest tenth, answer  = 88.5 ft²
