2. Underline the topic sentence for each paragraph or write the Implied topic sentence here:

  • Spawn during their trek from trek from the ocean, the color of their bodies has been transformed from the silver to deep scarlet. This sentence talks about the salmon, because they are silver color and live in the ocean but once they are ready to reproduce, they turn red and they swim up the river where they where born.

We see icebergs as big as house in a - above - freezing lake within walking distances of the highway. by Alaska . The Kenai Peninsula . Summer. Wow. This last paragraph describes the amazing, and extraordinary, feeling that the author has when he/she sees the glacier from his car and how close it is.

3. write the idea that all the topic sentences have in common: All the topic sentences describe the sight that the author has from his car and how splendid, and close, nature is.

4. Write your own sentence that includes the essay topic and the idea that the topic sentence have in common: Traveling is a great chance to get close to nature, even while driving in some places, like the Kenai peninsula, we are able to see how marvelous nature is.

What do you make of Westerberg’s assessment of Chris from this quote: "'You could tell right away that Alex was intelligent,' We
shusha [124]

Answer:

Westerberg's assessment tries to show Chris's transcendental nature, aiming to express what happened to him.

Explanation:

Westerberg, in his assessment shown above, tries to explain Chris, introducing him as a thoughtful, intelligent person with a transcendental nature that caused him to be lost. Westerberg shows that Chris tried to use his brilliant and active mind to find a way to understand the society around him. When he failed in that goal, he tried to transcend himself, to seek improvement on his own, which led him to abandon society altogether and look for something inaccessible.
