South American and Nazca tectonic plate boundary;

The boundary between the South American and the Nazca plates is a vibrant one. These two plates have the same density, so they collide and lift the land upwards, which is why the Andean Mountain Range formed. Occasionally there are earthquakes and they can be very strong. This is a convergent boundary.

Indian and Eurasian tectonic plate boundary;

The tectonic between the Indian and the Eurasian tectonic plates is also a convergent one, where we have two tectonic plates with the same density pushing against each other, and thus lifting up the land, which is how the Himalayan Mountain Range was formed. The earthquakes are relatively rare, and are of different velocity.

Pacific and North American tectonic boundary;

The border between these two plates is a a convergent one as well, but the Pacific plate has a smaller density than the North American one, so it is subducting underneath it. This brings in a very big geological activity, so there's multiple volcanoes and volcanic activities, as well as a big amount of earthquakes.

Which of the following is a correct statement about the demographic transition model?
Butoxors [25]

Answer:

The demographic transition model is characterized by relatively low growth rates at stage 1 and stage 4.

Explanation:

A is not correct because the demographic transition model has proven to be very reliable over time and that it manages to predict the population dynamics very precisely.

B is not correct because it is not just Russia's population that has been predicted well, but it is the case for most of the countries.

C is not correct because the demographic transition model has more than two stages.

D is not correct because this model doesn't predict that technology will be used to extand the limits of food production, thus it is not portrayed in a negative manner.

E is correct because stage 1 has high birthrates and high death rates, the population is still living in more primitive manner and bad conditions, and the growth is very mall, while stage 4 is the stage where the population is living in good conditions and has a high standard of living, with birthrates dropping, and the population gradually aging.
