Totalitarianism is a form of government that is usually centered around a person, called a dictator. In this system, the States have total power and aspires to remove all individual liberty and have all the control over society. Totalitarianism strives to total unity, total control, total obedience, aims to maintain power through the masses and it created an organized and stable society where the members do not rise against the government.

Hitler’s rule was considered totalitarianism because:

- He aimed to unify all the countries that spoke German into one single country, so he could control and expand all over Europe.

- Hitler demanded total obedience from Germans and people that he believed should not be in Germany such as jews, gypsies, and others.

- Hitler maintained power for a long time through the masses, we can see today a series of speeches that he held upon thousands of Germans.

- The Nazis created a stable government system that made it possible for people to denunciate others, so this created an environment where people would not rise against the government over the fear of being killed.
