You select a family with three children. It M represents a male child, and F represents a female child, the set of equally likel

y outcomes for the children's genders is (MMM, MIMF MFM, MFF, FMM, FMF, FFM, FFF ) Find the probability of selecting a family with fewer than 5 male children P(fewer than 5 male children) Type an integer or a simplified fraction.)

Answer with explanation:

→If a Family has five children, then Total likely outcome can be represented as:

Five Male =1

Five Female =1

4 Male +1 Female =4

4 Female +1 Male =4

3 Male +2 Female =10

3 Female +2 Male =10

Total Possible Outcome

=1+1+4+4+10+10

or

   =2×2×2×2×2

     =32

,i.e either a children can be a male or female.

→If all the five childrens are male , then in the family number of children fewer than 5 male children =32-1=31

→Probability of an Event

         =\frac{\text{Total favorable Outcome}}{\text{Total Possible Outcome}}

→→Probability of selecting a family with fewer than 5 male children

       =\frac{31}{32}

Write the coordinate of the intercept
Basile [38]

Answer:

m = 2/3

y-intercept: 2

Explanation:

First convert this equation into standard form by distributing the 6y and -4x from the coefficient of 2, and then putting the variables in order.

This equation should be in the form: Ax + By = C (Standard form)

y = -Ax/B + C/B : y = mx + b (Slope intercept form)

2(6y - 4x) = 24 → 12y - 8x = 24

→ -8x + 12y = 24 → -8x = -12y + 24 → 8x = 12y - 24 → 8x - 12y = -24

8x - 12y = -24

| | |

A B C

Once you have standard form, you are ready to convert this into slope intercept by isolating the y completely.

8x - 12y = -24

-8x -8x

(First through the subtraction property of equality, remove 8x from both sides so that -12y is by itself on the left)

-12y = -8x - 24

×-1 ×-1 ×-1

(Through the identity property of negative 1, remove the negative sign from all of the numbers because a negative times a negative is a positive)

12y = 8x + 24

(Lastly, through the division property of equality, divide all sides by 12 because it is the coefficient of y, which will solve for the variable)

110% of 90 is what number a?
Rudik [331]
Well 1 percent is 0.9, so an easy way to work it out:
100(0.9)=90
10(0.9)=9
90+9=99.

How many solutions does this equation have?

14t − 20 = 14t − 13 − 7
Yanka [14]

Answer:

infinitely many

Step-by-step explanation:

Combine like terms on the right-hand side:

14t-20=14t-20

Add 20

14t=14t

divide by 14

t=t

this means that there are infinitely many solutions
