The University of Texas uses race as one factor when deciding which applicants to admit as undergraduate students. The goal of u

sing race is to “achieve the educational benefits of diversity.” The University of Texas fills its incoming freshman class primarily by using class rank as a criterion, with students in the top 8% of their high school class gaining admission. These students fill about three fourths of the class, and race is used as a consideration to fill the remaining fourth. In 2013, the Supreme Court heard a case brought by a white student who had been denied admission, and the Court ruled on the constitutionality of the university’s admissions policy. One logical outcome of this case would be:-For the University of Texas to establish quotas that must be met, even if that means admitting unqualified students-For the University of Texas to continue to consider students’ race so the college student body reflects the demographics of the state-For the University of Texas to be charged with sexual harassment

Answer: In 2013, the Supreme Court heard a case brought by a white student who had been denied admission, and the Court ruled on the constitutionality of the university’s admissions policy. One logical outcome of this case would be:

For the University of Texas to continue to consider students’ race so the college student body reflects the demographics of the state.

Explanation:

In the Fisher v University of Texas (2013 and 2016) case, also known as Fisher I and Fisher II, the Supreme Court found that using the criteria of race as one of other CONSIDERATIONS when admitting students to the freshman class IS constitutional. The Supreme Court asserted that this action is: a "state action", courts must give leeway to university admissions, and this action of considering race is done to ensure diversity in the school's student body which is an important factor in public school education.

How did power from oligarchy get taken away.
Dominik [7]

Answer:

Oligarchy refers to a form of power structure where most of the power/influences in a certain country is held by a really small group of people.

In the past, this is the dominant form of government in almost all nations. Common people probably know them better as the 'nobles'  ,These people are the one that made all the laws and economic decisions. The common people on the other hand, were just there to obey them without able to do anything about it.

This led to a situation which caused a lot of suffering for the common people. The high taxes that that the nobles imposed made it impossible for the people to obtain enough money to buy their own food. In the end, many of them starved to death.

This led to massive revolutions to got rid of the oligarch and replace them with a democracy. In which , the people will have the most power to determine which laws can be passed in their country. (through votes)

This is basically how the power from oligarchy got taken away.

Semmy [17]

Answer:This is an example of suggestibility

Explanation:

Suggestibility occurs when someone makes a suggestion that seems reasonable enough to be true eventhough it may not be true we may find ourselves inclined to use that suggestion in order to bridge the gap in our own memories as we try to remember the information about the same situation.

One of the eyewitness yelled the blue shirt when the bag was snatched it is very likely that others believe he must have seen the person so they all use this suggestion as they testify and that is the effect of suggestibility

What does the structure of the following excerpt from Aquinas's Summa Theologica illustrate: "Is there a God? REPLY: There are f
Vinvika [58]

Answer:

d. Aquinas’s use of dialectical method.

Explanation:

According to a different source, these are the options that come with this question:

a. Aquinas’s lack of faith in God.

b. Aquinas’s deliberate imitation of liturgical practice.

c. Aquinas’s insistence that his readers accept revealed truth.

d. Aquinas’s use of dialectical method.

The main thing that this statement from Aquinas shows is that he employs the dialectical method. The dialectical method, or simply, dialectics, is a method that attempts to mimic discourse between two people who hold different points of view. When using this system, it is assumed that both people want to establish the truth about a matter through reasonable and sound arguments. In this example, Aquinas is employing it in order to get to the truth of whether there is a God.
