This question is incomplete because part of the text is missing, here is the complete excerpt for the question:

Read this excerpt from Through the Looking-Glass by Lewis Carroll.

"That would never do, I'm sure," said Alice: "the governess would never think of excusing me lessons for that. If she couldn't remember my name, she'd call me 'Miss!' as the servants do."

"Well, if she said 'Miss,' and didn't say anything more," the Gnat remarked, "of course you'd miss your lessons. That's a joke. I wish YOU had made it."

"Why do you wish I had made it?" Alice asked. "It's a very bad one."

But the Gnat only sighed deeply, while two large tears came rolling down its cheeks.

"You shouldn't make jokes," Alice said, "if it makes you so unhappy."

Then came another of those melancholy little sighs, and this time the poor Gnat really seemed to have sighed itself away, for, when Alice looked up, there was nothing whatever to be seen on the twig, and, as she was getting quite chilly with sitting still so long, she got up and walked on.

The answer to this question is C. The gnat makes jokes, but they seem to cause him unhappiness rather than joy.

Explanation:

Opposites are contradictory elements, characters, actions, or events. In the excerpt from Through the Looking Glass, the author Lewis Carroll used opposite actions in the Gnat character. Indeed, in this dialogue between the Gnat and Alice, the gnat decides to make a joke or funny remark in "Well, if she said 'Miss,' and didn't say anything more...of course you'd miss your lessons"; however, right after this remark, the Gnat is sad and melancholic "the Gnat only sighed deeply, while two large tears came rolling down its cheeks", which shows contradictory or opposite actions.

Why wasn't Parks allowed to drink water or<br> make a phone call?
photoshop1234 [79]

Answer: Because She was BLACK. Daz why.

Explanation: Parks was taken to jail. She asked for a drink of water but they refused. Finally she was allowed a call home. Her mother was terrified when she heard Rosa was in jail, worried she’d been beaten. Raymond promised to come get her right away, but she knew it would take awhile because he didn’t have a car and needed to find a bail bondsmen. Two iconic pictures of Parks being fingerprinted (seen here) and of her mugshot are not from this arrest, but rather from her arrest in February 1956 during boycott when she was arrested along with other boycott organizers for their role in the boycott. But they are regularly mis-attributed to this arrest.

This is not one of the basic requirements of writing.
jeka57 [31]

Answer:

Reconciling

Explanation:

When you write a story, you can decide the theme, idea and characters you want to include in your story. You will decide how is your story going to be composed (how many paragraphs or subtitles or subheadings you will write).

Your characters are going to communicate in the language, writing style or non-words you decide. Your choice to organize communication is going to be one of the most important ways of characterization of your story.

Crafting refers to which literary device you will use to describe your theme or main plot in a story. Your character and their acts or pictures can be written using a simile, metaphor, personification, hyperbole...  These are basic requirements, but reconciling is not. By this term, it is meant that the two characters should be nice to each other and stoup their arguing. That can be an important part of the story but not the required one.
