Which line in this excerpt from Richard Connell's “The Most Dangerous Game” uses personification? "The old charts call it `Ship-

Trap Island,"' Whitney replied. “A suggestive name, isn't it? Sailors have a curious dread of the place. I don't know why. Some superstition—-" "Can't see it," remarked Rainsford, trying to peer through the dank tropical night that was palpable as it pressed its thick warm blackness in upon the yacht. "You've good eyes," said Whitney, with a laugh, "andI've seen you pick off a moose moving in the brown fall bush at four hundred yards, but even you can't see four miles or so through a moonless Caribbean night." "Nor four yards," admitted Rainsford. "Ugh! It's like moist black velvet."

Discuss people’s attitudes to disability and special educational needs.
EleoNora [17]

Answer:

By implementing positive attitudes towards disabilities and specific requirements we are not concentrating on what they cannot do but how we can help them achieve what they may lack in doing by themselves. By meeting their needs we are recognising and supporting them rather than singling out as special needs.

Children learn at different speeds and in different ways. Children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) have learning difficulties or disabilities that make it harder for them to learn than most children of the same age.

Do you think Anne Frank's age helped her stay more
Maslowich

Answer:

1. Yes, Anne's age helped her stay more optimistic.

2. No. Her words and spirit would have been different, if she was older.

Explanation:

1. The 'Diary of Anne Frank', portrays Anne to be a young energetic and high-spirited girl. As a young person Anne showed optimism during her stay in the annex, as she looked forward to exploring life after the war.

  • A major way she was able to remain optimistic, was by channeling her thoughts into writing. All negative feelings she had were put into writing and this was a good coping mechanism.
  • As a young girl, she never lost hope on going back to school after the war.
  • She made a joke of things so as to lighten the mood of people in the house and she also appreciated presents like her Christmas gifts.
  • She also became friends with Peter and this cheered her up the more.

2. If Anne were older her words and spirit might not have been the same.

  • Older people are known to censor their feelings more. This was not the case with Anne who protested her mothers attitude towards her frequently.
  • She had an interest in sexuality and did not shy away from writing about her relationship with her boyfriends.
  • She had an interest in exploring life and going back to school. An older person may not have these same expectations.
