You have the chance of rain

P(R) = 0.9

And the chance of wind and rain

P(R∩ W)=0.7

The probabilities of windy weather is

P(W)=\frac{P(R∩W)}{P(R)}=\frac{0.7}{0.9}=0.78

The correct answer then is D) 78%

Why do we spread talcum powder on a carrom board while playing
inna [77]

We sprinkle powder on carrom board to make the surface of the board smooth. This reduces the friction between the surface of the carrom board, the striker and the coins. As a result, the coins and the striker can move easily on the carrom board.

Nana76 [90]

The provided question has marked options incorrectely the correct order as follows:

A) Expose putative DNA repair mutant plants to ionizing radiation L and see if they survive less well than wild-type plants.

B) Measure the amount of post-translational processing that occurs in the putative DNA repair mutant plants.

C) Measure the somatic mutation rates for the putative DNA repair mutant plants.

D) Expose the putative DNA repair mutant plants to a deaminating agent and select those that have a decreased mutation rate.

E) Measure the germline spontaneous and induced mutation rates for the putative DNA repair mutant plants.

Answer:

The correct answer is: A), C) and E)

Explanation:

The breeder wants to isolate the mutants in tomatoes that are defective in DNA repair, to identify such plants breeder should follow these methods as they will allow best to identifying the defective tomatoes-

Measure the somatic mutation rates for the putative DNA repair mutant plants.

Measure the germline spontaneous and induced mutation rates for the putative DNA repair mutant plants.

Expose putative DNA repair mutant plants to ionizing radiation L and see if they survive less well than wild-type plants.  This will allow the breeder to see and analyze the ability of DNA repair in tomatoes

During which process is ethanol produced?
Kipish [7]

Answer:

Alcohol fermentation

Explanation:

When oxygen availability is low, the cell can't perform aerobic respiration to breakdown glucose. Instead, anaerobic respiration must be performed. This occurs in cells which consume large amounts of energy, such as muscle cells. Anaerobic respiration produces much less energy than aerobic respiration

One type of anaerobic respiration formed by yeast is called alcohol fermentation (also called ethanol fermentation). This begins with glycolysis, where one molecule of glucose is broke down into 2 molecules of pyruvate. The energy from this reaction generates 2 molecules of ATP, and converts NAD+ to NADH.

Then, the two molecules of pyruvate are further broke down into 2 acetaldehydes (releasing two molecules of carbon dioxide as a by-product). These two molecules of acetaldehyde are then converted into tw molecules of ethanol, using the H ions from NADH, converting it back to NAD+. See the attached picture

This process is taken advantage of to brew beer and wine.

What is meant by transpiration is a necessaru evil?
3241004551 [841]
In plants, transpiration is a process which is inevitable but potentially harmful, because it can cause loss of water. Loss of water can lead to wilting and eventual death of the plant. Even a little stress can interfere with the plant's growth process.

But, at the same time, transpiration is necessary because of a number of reasons - the transpiration stream aids the processes of mineral absorption, water absorption, energy exchange, helps provide the plant with optimum turgidity, it helps the exchange of gases and so on.
