The Treaty of Versailles ended World War I between Germany and the Allied Powers. Because Germany had lost the war, the treaty was very harsh against Germany. Germany was forced to "accept the responsibility" of the war damages suffered by the Allies.

To what extent was imperial and colonial policy in the years 1857 to 1890 influenced by international pressures?
jek_recluse [69]

The imperial and colonial policy in the years 1857 to 1890 was influenced by international pressures mainly due to economic interests.

The word "colonial policy" refers to how the British manage the Empire, how they choose where to go, and what they do once they are there. The primary determinant of colonial policy was internal factors. The British were overtaken by the US, Germany, France, and Russia and were unable to assert their superiority. It required fresh revenue streams. Competitors changed the market climate as a result, and the necessity for new markers resulted in the creation of colonial policy.

Examples of internal pressures between 1857 and 1890 include the Germans' arrival in south-west Africa in 1884, which led to the annexation of Bechuanaland, and Berlin's participation in the Conference in 1884-85.

Do you think United States of America would still be here today if we never abandoned the Articles of confederation?
sdas [7]

Answer:

No, I don't think the US would be here today because the Articles of Confederation made the federal government incredibly weak and many laws wouldn't have been able to be passed since all 13 colonies had to agree. Also, the leaders wouldn't have been able to change the tax amount which caused immense chaos and might've led to the destruction of America as we know it.
