Because they were racist, and judged them just because of the color of their skin, they never took a moment to see that the slaves were the same bone and flesh as them. Sometimes they made the slaved whip the other slaves.

It had a negative impact because since it would clean cotton so fast many plantation owners bought more cotton (the more the cotton the more the money). But more cotton requires more harvesters so these plantation owners also would buy more slaves.
