Answer: a) Nkrumah's government held too much power, and officials could do whatever they wanted.

Opposition parties have an important role to play in democracies. The role of these parties is to control the party in power. The threat of being able to lose their power makes the party in power more likely to fulfill the citizens' demands. In the case of Ghana, opposition parties were banned. This means that the governing party had no risk of losing their power. This confidence and excess of power reduces accountability, and in the case of Ghana, severely increased corruption.

Answer:

The correct answer is Subsidizing research and development into new weaving technologies.

Explanation:

Human capital and investment in Research and Development are considered the two main drivers of productivity accross nations. The weaving industry is labor-intensive, but does not require highly qualified workforce, thus, an economic policy focused on education might not have a direct impact on productivity. Investing on R&D might be a better policy since it might lead to improving production techniques and increased productivity in the long term.

astra-53 [7]

Answer:

A). Does not suggest that Catherine goes to see every romantic comedy that plays at her local movie theater.

Explanation:

The reasoning provided here for concluding that 'since Catherine did not go to the movies yesterday, there is not a romantic comedy playing at her local theater' is flawed because it 'does not suggest that Catherine visits her local movie theatre to watch every romantic comedy.' However, it suggests that Catherine visits her local theatre to watch only the romantic comedies but it is never stated that she watches every romantic comedy displayed at the theater. Thus, it exemplifies the false premise as the proposition or premise fails to justify the conclusion, and hence, option A is the correct answer.
