The point A, with coordinates (0,a,b) lies on the line l1, which has equation:
Luda [366]

a) The solution of the system is: (λ, a, b) = (- 5, - 11, - 26).

b) The coordinates of the point P are (x, y, z) = (- 16 / 3, - 43, 152 / 3).

c) Vectors <u>AP</u> and <u>PB</u> are <em>collinear</em> for their ends lie on the line. The ratio AP : PB is 83.248 : 73.491 (1.133 : 1).

<h3>How to analyze a line equation in vector form</h3>

a) In this problem we have a equation of the line in <em>vector</em> form, whose form is:

<u>r</u> = (5, 19, - 1) + λ · (1, 6, - 5)

Now we find the value of λ for the case <u>r</u> = (0, a, b):

(0, a, b) = (5, 19, - 1) + λ · (1, 6, - 5)

5 + λ = 0

19 + 6 · λ = a

- 1 + 5 · λ = b

The solution of the system is: (λ, a, b) = (- 5, - 11, - 26).

b) Then, the following condition must be fulfilled:

<u>OP</u> • <u>PB</u> = 0

(5 + λ, 19 + 6 · λ, - 1 + 5 · λ) • [(4, 13, 4) - (5 + λ, 19 + 6 · λ, - 1 - 5 · λ)] = 0

(5 + λ, 19 + 6 · λ, - 1 + 5 · λ) • (- 1 - λ, - 6 - 6 · λ, 5 + 5 · λ) = 0

(5 + λ) · (- 1 - λ) + (19 + 6 · λ) · (- 6 - 6 · λ) + (- 1 + 5 · λ) · (5 + 5 · λ) = 0

- (5 + λ) · (1 + λ) - 6 · (19 + 6 · λ) · (1 + λ) + 5 · (- 1 + 5 · λ) · (1 + λ) = 0

- (5 + 6 · λ + λ²) - 6 · (19 + 25 · λ + 6 · λ²) + 5 · (- 1 + 4 · λ + 5 · λ²) = 0

- 5 - 6 · λ - λ² - 114 - 150 · λ - 36 · λ² - 5 + 20 · λ + 25 · λ² = 0

- 12 · λ² - 136 · λ - 124 = 0

There are two solutions: λ₁ = - 1, λ₂ = - 31 / 3, whose points P are:

<u>r₁</u> = (5, 19, - 1) + (- 1) · (1, 6, - 5)

<u>r₁</u> = (4, 13, 4)

<u>r₂</u> = (5, 19, - 1) + (- 31 / 3) · (1, 6, - 5)

<u>r₂</u> = (- 16 / 3, - 43, 152 / 3)

Then, the coordinates of the point P are (x, y, z) = (- 16 / 3, - 43, 152 / 3).

c) Vectors <u>AP</u> and <u>PB</u> are <em>collinear</em> for their ends lie on the line. The ratio can be found by using the magnitudes of each vector:

Vector AP

<u>AP</u> = (- 16 / 3, - 43, 152 / 3) - (0, - 11, - 26)

<u>AP</u> = (- 16 / 3, - 32, 230 / 3)

AP = √(<u>AP</u> • <u>AP</u>)

AP ≈ 83.248

Vector PB

<u>PB</u> = (4, 13, 4) - (- 16 / 3, - 43, 152 / 3)

<u>PB</u> = (28 / 3, 56, - 140 / 3)

PB = √(<u>PB</u> • <u>PB</u>)

PB ≈ 73.491

The ratio AP : PB is 83.248 : 73.491 (1.133 : 1).

How does the job satisfaction score for weeks 5-8 compare to weeks 1-4?
MrRa [10]

The correct comparison for Weeks 5-8 is higher than Week 1-4, hence, the job satisfaction for Week 5-8 is 17% higher.

<u>Job Satisfaction Score</u> :

  • Week 1 = 3.50
  • Week 2 = 3.40
  • Week 3 = 3.30
  • Week 4 = 3.60
  • Week 5 = 4.20
  • Week 6 = 4.00
  • Week 7 = 4.10
  • Week 8 = 3.90

<u>Job Satisfaction for week 1 - 4</u> :

  • Week 1 + Week 2 + Week 3 + Week 4
  • (3.50 + 3.40 + 3.30 + 3.60) = 13.80

<u>Job Satisfaction for Week 5 - 8</u> :

  • Week 5 + Week 6 + Week 7 + Week 8
  • (4.20 + 4.00 + 4.10 + 3.90) = 16.20

<u>Difference</u><u> between the two categories</u> :

[(Week 5 - 8) - (Week 1-4)] / Week 1-4] × 100%

(16.20 - 13.80) / 13.80 × 100%

(2.4 / 13.80) × 100%

0.1739 × 100%

= 17.39%

Therefore, the job satisfaction for Week 5 - 8 is about 17% higher than Week 1 - 4

Given that f(a+b)= f(a) + f(b) and f(x) is always positive, what os the value of f(0)?
FrozenT [24]
This is a strange question, and f(x) may not even exist. Why do I say that? Well..

[1] We know that f(a+b) = f(a) + f(b). Therefore, f(0+0) = f(0) + f(0). In other words, f(0) = f(0) + f(0). Subtracting, we see, f(0) - f(0) = f(0) or 0 = f(0).

[2] So, what's the problem? We found the answer, f(0) = 0, right? Maybe, but the second rule says that f(x) is always positive. However, f(0) = 0 is not positive!

Since there is a contradiction, we must either conclude that the single value f(0) does not exist, or that the entire function f(x) does not exist.

To fix this, we could instead say that "f(x) is always nonnegative" and then we would be safe.

Can u guys please help me?
Eduardwww [97]

Answer:

9m

Step-by-step explanation:

The surface area of a cube is given by

SA = 6s^2  where s is the side length

We know the surface area is 486 and the side length is z

486 = 6z^2

Divide each side by 6

486/6 = 6z^2/6

81 = z^2

Take the square root of each side

sqrt(81) = sqrt(z^2)

9 = z

Each side has a length of 9m
