If one says that the clearance value of glucose is zero, what does this mean? A. Most of the glucose is filtered out of the bloo

d and is not reabsorbed in the convoluted tubules. B. The clearance value of glucose is relatively high in a healthy adult. C. Normally all the glucose is reabsorbed. D. The glucose molecule is too large to be filtered out of the blood.

Answer:

C. Normally all the glucose is reabsorbed.

Explanation:

The renal plasma clearance value of a substance indicates how efficiently it is removed from the blood by kidneys. The higher renal plasma clearance value indicates that the substance is efficiently removed from the blood and is excreted via urine.

On the other hand, the lower clearance value indicates lesser excretion of the substance in urine and higher reabsorption into the blood. Glucose is used as a raw material for cellular respiration to produce energy.

So, the clearance value for glucose is zero which means that glucose is completely reabsorbed from the filtrate and is not present in urine. Symporters and facilitated diffusion allow 100% reabsorption of glucose from filtrate as it passes through proximal convoluted tubule.

. Given that 3 of the 64 possible codons are stop codons, what is the chance of having a stop codon at any given position, assum
ANTONII [103]

Answer:

1 - (\frac{61}{64})^n

Explanation:

Given

There are three stop codon

TAA, TAG, TGA.

Out of 64 available codons, 3 are stop codon thus the remaining are non-stop codon.

So the probability of choosing a non stop codon is

\frac{61}{64}

Let us suppose the number of trials are "x" then the probability of choosing a non stop codon is

(\frac{61}{64})^x\\

Probability of choosing a stop codon is equal to

1 - probability of choosing a non stop codon

1 - (\frac{61}{64})^n

What does an organism typically use proteins for?
asambeis [7]

Answer:

to speed up cellular processes, structure

Explanation:

Typically proteins are not used for energy in organisms. Enzymes are proteins that speed up the cellular processes in our bodies. Proteins are also needed for the structure and function of body tissues and organs. Proteins do not store genetic information, that is DNA's job.
