Answer:

Presence of descendants of most recent ancestor in organism group decides that certain species falls under monophyletic or paraphyletic.

Explanation:

Monophyletic : Monophyletic taxon or Clade Monophyletic is named to group composed of collection of organisms that includes most recent common ancestor of all those organism and all descendants of most recent common ancestor

Paraphyletic : Paraphyletic taxon or is named to group composed of organisms having most recent common ancestor of organisms. This is different from Clade Monophyletic as it does not include all descendants of most recent common ancestor.

Examples for Clade Monophyletic are: Insects, Aves (Birds) etc.

Examples for Paraphyletic : Invertebrates, Fish etc.

PLEASE HELP!!!! 30 points!!!! Start a discussion on Homeostasis. List 2 facts and 2 opinions.
kipiarov [429]

Answer:

facts: The tendency to maintain a stable, relatively constant internal environment is called homeostasis. The body maintains homeostasis for many factors in addition to temperature. For instance, the concentration of various ions in your blood must be kept steady, along with pH and the concentration of glucose.

opinions: Homeostasis is the tendency to resist change in order to maintain a stable, relatively constant internal environment. Homeostasis typically involves negative feedback loops that counteract changes of various properties from their target values, known as set points.

True or false. Is sympatric speciation, a physical barrier arises and separates two populations l, ending flow between them
timofeeve [1]

Answer;

The above statement is False

Explanation;

 • Speciation is an evolutionary process in which new species arise. There are three types of speciation, namely; sympatric, parapatric and allopatric speciation.
 • Sympatric speciation is a pattern in which speciation occurs in the absence of a physical barrier to gene flow; ex. polyploidy arising in flowers.
 • In an Allopatric speciation on the other hand, a physical barrier arises and separates two populations, ending gene flow between them and allowing reproductive isolating mechanisms to evolve so that later if the two groups come back into contact they will no longer be able to reproduce together, therefore making them different species.
