The Correct answer is D. A good thesis statement with supporting examples, speaking with conviction and passion and moving listeners to take action.

Explanation:

Shirley Chisholm was an American politician, author, and educator. One of the biggest achievements that she was able to achieve was to be the first black woman elected to the United States Congress. In 1972, she was the first black women to be nominated for a party to be elected as president. All of this gave her the experience to have great persuasion tools in her speech.

True [87]

Answer:

The chosen issue is the weakness of our educational system to teach politics to young people.

Explanation:

Politics is the term that refers to the organization and administration of states and nations. Although it is something very important in our society, few people know how their country's policy works and this is the result of a deficient educational system that fails to train prepared citizens.

Understanding of politics is very important within a democratic society that allows its citizens to choose their rulers based on their efficient idologies and ability to govern efficiently. However, what we can see is that our society grows citizens who choose their leaders based on fraudulent ideologies, which results in the choice of incompetent rulers and who do not know how to govern, even in the moments of major crises, much less know how to maintain the moments stability.

We can use as an example the election of the Brazilian president, Jair Bolsonaro, who took advantage of a population with little knowledge of politics, managed to be elected with inefficient and incompetent proposals and causes an economic, political and sanitary crisis in the country just to reach the own interests.

With that, we can conclude that there is a responsibility of our schools to form politically intelligent citizens, who know how to evaluate the candidates in relation to the current situation of the country, choosing responsible governments and who know how to do their job.
