Answer:

On September 18, 1895, the African American educator and leader Booker T. Washington delivered his famous "Atlanta Compromise" speech at the Cotton States and International Exposition in Atlanta. Considered the definitive statement of what Washington termed the "accommodationist" strategy of Black response to southern racial tensions, it is widely regarded as one of the most significant speeches in American history.

He used pathos to show how unfair and unjust it was and how cruel they are treated, and so. It touched his heart with that letter. If character traits are not clearly stated how can a reader figure them out
Debora [2.8K]
You should observe and pay attention to the way they talk, behave when they are alone, and when they are in somebody's company. Observe what they do, what they like and dislike. Just like figuring out a real person - you should think the character is a real person, and consider how you would figure out somebody in your own life, who is not fictional.

Anestetic [448]

in Joy Harjo's "New Orleans", the line "beaten silver paths" refers to the streets of such city. She remembers of certain Spanish conqueror, De Soto, who came to this lands searching for, and constantly states that he wouldn't find it here. Maybe is a mock to that fact.

The "silver blades and crosses" refers to the sword and crucifix of the conqueror, who drawn in the Mississippi river which dreamt of those items. Maybe this means that the streets of New Orleans were made of the things and dreams of the many conquerors who came to that land in search for gold and failed.
