Magna Carta was the charter of liberties in England. It was signed in 1215. The Nobles exerted pressure on King John to sign it and avoid a rebellion in Britain. It was the base to built the government system in England. The document represented a symbol of freedom from the oppression of the British monarch.

The English Bill of Rights was signed into law in 1689 after the overthrown of King James II. It was signed by William the Orange and Mary II, the new rulers of England.
