Ok so you do 3x7= 21 which you already know. So then you do 1x7=7. Last, you just add 21+7=28 pens in total

4 spoons and 3 forks cost $15 4 spoons and 1 fork cost $13 how many do the forks cost?
Wewaii [24]
Let's say that s=spoons and f=forks.

According to this, we can say that:

{4s+3f=15
{4s+f=13

This is a system.

We can then use elimination to solve and isolate the variable:
(4s-3f=15)
- (4s+f=13)

We can then subtract and conclude that:
-4f=2
-f=1/2
f=-1/2

To make 2 apple pies, you need 4 pounds of apples. How many pounds of apples do you need to make 5 pies?
sasho [114]
To solve this we must set up a proportion.

For each pie we need 2 pounds because you divide 4 by 2.

So we do 5 times 2 which gives us 10 pounds per 5 pies
Your answer is
You need 10 pounds of apples for 5 pies.

Kylie drank 35% ofna 400-mL contanier of water.Eugenia drank 45% of a 350 mL container of water.who drank more?Explain how you k
Andrei [34K]
Let Kylie's container (which is 400ml) be 100%. She drank 35%. Proportion:
400ml - 100%
x ml    - 35%
So Kylie drank:
x=(400*35)/100=140 ml of water

Whole Eugenia's container (350ml) is also 100% and she drank 45%.
350ml - 100%
xml     - 45%
Eugenia drank:
x=(350*45)/100=157,5ml of water

Thus, Eugenia drank (157,5-140)=17,5 ml more than Kylie
