Reading is important because it develops the human brain. Many well paid jobs require reading as a part of job performance. Reading gives us knowledge and makes us smarter.

Answer:

Independent reading is taking the time to read on your own, without a group, or audio. Reading is important, because it contributes to our understanding of situations.

Explanation:

1) When you are reading independently, it is best to be in a comfortable environment without many distractions. While reading, try to set a goal for yourself, it makes you feel accomplished and want to continue reading. For example if you are reading "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens, you would set a goal to complete one Stave/section each day. Five staves in the book-five days to complete the book. Independent is not with a group, or listening to an audio; you do it by being in your own space, and only need your eyes, not your mouth.

2)Reading is just as important as texting is to a teenage girl. For example, how can that girl text if she can't even read? How can a person drive, or find their way home if they don't understand the road signs? Adolescents have been taught new and improved ways to read since the first day of kindergarten. Our lives are a foundation built around reading. Reading is fundamental, because without it, we would be lost, mentally and physically, beyond words.
