Lisa was anxious to seem smart and cool in her new book club. Someone asked how she liked Racer Man, the first book in a popular

new science fiction series that she had devoured in a week. "It was stupid," she said quickly. "I got through it in a day. I know it was really popular, but I thought it was immature and unsophisticated. And the next four books in the series, too!"
