Answer: 0.66

Step-by-step explanation:

He must choose 2 courses.

The options are:

one of two science classes

one of three social sciences classes.

For the first class selection we do not have any restriction, so that selection can be ignored.

Now, we can assume that one of the 3 social sciences is economics, so we have 2 classes that are not economics.

Then, the probability that he does not select economics (if the selections are at random) is equal to the number of classes that are not economics divided the total number of classes:

p = 2/3 = 0.66

What is the value of the following expression. 2×{6+[12÷(3+1)]}-1
ella [17]
I got 83. I got it by doing 3+1 first because it was the FIRST parenthesis. Then I did 12 divided by 4 then that equaled 3 and since the 3 would still be in parenthesis you times that by 12 and get 36. You then do 36 + 6 which is 42. 42 x 2 = 84. Lastly 84 - 1 = 83 I hoped this helped and I'm sorry if I was a little bit confusing!

Order these 1/4 0.4 1.4% 14/100 0.025
drek231 [11]

Answer:

ascending: 1.4%, 0.025, 14/100, 1/4, 0.4

OR

descending: 0.4, 1/4, 14/100, 0.025, 1.4%

(your question did not specify which order)

Step-by-step explanation:

make all the values given constant (either decimal or fraction).

1/4 = 0.25

0.4 = 0.4

1.4% = 0.014

14/100 = 0.14

0.025 = 0.025

now that the numbers are easier to compare, rearrange them in the order the questions requires.

ascending: 1.4%, 0.025, 14/100, 1/4, 0.4

descending: 0.4, 1/4, 14/100, 0.025, 1.4%

How is this solved? I have been trying for hours.
dimaraw [331]
First you simplify the square root of -8, which is approximately -2.83. Subtract -2 by the square root of -8, and you'll get -4.83. Divide -4.83 by 2, and the answer should be -2.415 or -2.42. I'm not sure about this answer though.
