One of the objectives of geography is to study the relationship between human societies and the use of space, this includes the creation of settlements such as cities. About this, geographers usually classify cities using three main categories, the first one refers to cities that act as business centers and are essential for the economy (central cities); the second one includes cities with a focus on transportation including transportation infrastructure and services (transportation cities); the last one refers to cities with specialized functions such as tourism (specialized function cities). This means all are valid classifications except for Mega Cities because this category does not refer to a type of city in terms of functions as others.
