Write a character sketch of at least 400 words about someone you know. Choose the person you wish to write about, and decide what personality traits you wish to discuss about him or her. When you choose a person about whom you wish to write, you must ask yourself a few questions:

What has he done to make me feel that his character is happy, unselfish, evil, kind, patient, sad, irreverent, etc.?
What has he said to back up my opinion?
What details about the physical appearance or conduct of this person would add to my impression?
What personal habits does he have?
How does he react under stress?
How does he react to other people?
What impression does his facial expression bring to others?

Can’t hide his displeasure at hearing lite-instrumental renditions of songs he likes. Just the other day, he was sharing an elevator with four other people, all strangers to him, when his ears were assaulted by the Muzak version of his third-favorite song of all time, Steppenwolf’s “Magic Carpet Ride.” He shook his head, groaned, then closed his eyes and said out loud, “What a world we live in.”
