Answer:

A policy meaning "restructuring," leading to political and economic reform - Perestroika

The word Perestroika in Russian literally means "restructuring", and was one of the two key policies of Mikhail Gorbachev. The goal of this policy was to restructure the Soviet economy, which was lagging behind the American economy. Gorbachev wanted to open up some sectors to the free market, and to reform government sectors that were operating inefficiently.

A policy meaning "openness" that allows people to express their opinions and vote - Glasnot

The word Glasnot means "openness" in Russian. This was the other key policy of Gorbachev. The goal was to open up the Soviet government to criticism, and to improve the transparency of the state, with the goal of increasing trust among the Soviet population.

What inspired women to begin enlisting?
Dima020 [189]

Women have been a part of the war effort since the Revolutionary War, but in the early days of our nation they had to cloak themselves in disguise to serve alongside men. When they were accepted into the military, women were given auxiliary roles. As the weapons and methods of warfare changed in the late 20th century, however, the Pentagon began to realize that gender matters less on the battlefield.
