Straight line equation has a general form of y=mx+c
Where m is the slope m= \frac{ y_{2}- y_{1} }{x_{2}- x_{1}}
and c is the y intercepted part.
So now, you need to find the value of the slope (m) and the y intercept (c).
As you can notice the line intercepts with y axis in (0,1) So c=1.
And then you want to find 2 points along that line  to found the slope from, we found on already (0,1) and the  other one can be any point along the line, let's take (2,3).
Then use them to find the slope.
slope(m)= \frac{ y_{2}- y_{1} }{x_{2}- x_{1}} = \frac{3-1}{2- 0}} = \frac{2}{2} =1
So now m=1 and c=1.
The equation of this line is y=x+1

Hope this helps!

Area of the sector = 1/2 * r^2 * theta where theta is the angle subtended by the arc at the center  ( in radians)

In this case m < theta = 360 - 235 = 125 degrees or  2.182 radians

So, the area of shaded area = 1/2 * 20^2 * 2.182 =   436.4 in^2

A rectangle with a length of L and a width of W has a diagonal of 10 inches. Express the perimeter P of the rectangle as a funct
KatRina [158]
<h2>Answer:</h2>

The expression which represents the perimeter P of the rectangle as a function of L is:

          Perimeter=2(L+\sqrt{100-L^2})

<h2>Step-by-step explanation:</h2>

The length and width of a rectangle are denoted by L and W respectively.

Also the diagonal of a rectangle is: 10 inches.

We know that the diagonal of a rectangle in terms of L and W are given by:

10=\sqrt{L^2+W^2}

( Since, the diagonal of a rectangle act as a hypotenuse of the right angled triangle and we use the Pythagorean Theorem )

Hence, we have:

10^2=L^2+W^2\\\\i.e.\\\\W^2=100-L^2\\\\W=\pm \sqrt{100-L^2}

But we know that width can't be negative. It has to be greater than 0.

Hence, we have:

W=\sqrt{100-L^2}

Now, we know that the Perimeter of a rectangle is given by:

Perimeter=2(L+W)

Here we have:

Perimeter=2(L+\sqrt{100-L^2})

19) At a local river, there were 48 alligators lying on the riverbank. If of the alligators wereasleep, how many were not asleep
sergey [27]
19) 48 alligators; 7/8 of the alligators were asleep. How many were not asleep?

8/8 - 7/8 = 1/8
48 * 1/8 = 48/8 = 6 alligators were not asleep.

20) 2/3 of the student population participated. 1,500 is the student population of the school. HOw many attended the bike rally?

1500 * 2/3 = 1500*2 / 3= 3000 / 3 = 1000 students attended.

21) 18 times at bat:
Kayla 5/6 of the time = 18 * 5/6 = 18*5 / 6 = 90/6 = 15 hits
Tia 8/9 of the time = 18 * 8/9 = 18*8 / 9 = 144/9 = 16 hits

Tia got more hits.
