Hunting and gathering has been the mode of survival for humans for most of history. Agriculture which began approximately 10,000 years ago made humans capable to lead a settled lifestyle. In proto-historical time, hunting of animals, fishing and gathering the fruits, vegetables, etc was the primary source of diet and it is still practiced in some parts of this world.
