The Governor's Council was the upper house of the colonial legislature. The lower house was called the Commons House of Assembly. While Georgia was a Royal colony, members of the Governor's Council were appointed by the King of England.
He was the founder of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) and the short-lived Lone Scouts of America (LSA). Born in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, he acquired a love for the outdoors early in his life.
