The correct answer is C) Irrigation is often necessary for farming in dry areas.

The statement that is true of farming in the Middle East is "Irrigation is often necessary for farming in dry areas."

The Middle East region is very desertic with dry weather conditions. Originally, the first human civilization that settled in the region were the Sumerians. They settled in between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers, for the many benefits they provided. The fertile lands of the banks of the river allowed agriculture in the region. With the use of irrigation, nowadays many cities can get the water of the rivers for irrigation and human consumption in a desertic area.

What was the cotton gin? How did it have a negative impact rather than positive?
kobusy [5.1K]
It could clean then produce cotton tenfold the time it would take a normal human. It had a negative impact because since it would clean cotton so fast many plantation owners bought more cotton (the more the cotton the more the money). But more cotton requires more harvesters so these plantation owners also would buy more slaves. This of course was not good since this commenced through out the whole country causing a massive spike of slaves to be purchased. If you have any more questions just ask :)
