The northern portion of Jammu and Kashmir regions have had low population density because of the mountainous terrain.

Explanation:

The regions of Jammu and Kashmir are both located in Afghanistan, presenting two of the three large regions of the country. Both regions have mixed topography, with Jammu being much lower on average than Kashmir. The northern part of Jammu and Kashmir are areas that have low population densities, and there are several factors that have contributed to this, such as:

  • high mountains
  • low precipitation
  • harsh climate
  • poor soil

While the majority of the Jammu region is dominated by lowlands, its northern portion is dominated by the Paropamisus Mountains, which are very inhospitable. The majority of the territory of Kashmir is occupied by the same mountains too. The bad living conditions on the Paropamisus Mountains meant that the people avoided this region, and still do, so the population density is very low.

Six years after the end of World War I Congress enacted a bill that would reward veterans of the conflict a cash bonus for their
pishuonlain [190]

In virtue of the World War Adjusted Compensation Act, U.S. World War I veterans were granted certificates, or bonuses,  for their service in the Armed Forces during the Great War to be redeemed in 1945. Due to the onset of the Depression, in 1932, a large group of veterans out of jobs and desperate to get some money to support their families, marched to Washington D.C. where they camped in order to request the government to honor the bonuses well ahead of their redemption date. The government refused and had U.S. Army units remove the demonstrators by the force of arms, including six tanks, resulting in two World War I veterans killed and over a thousand injured. Four years later the Congress ordered the payment of the certificates nine years before their redemption date.

Identify the major accomplishments of Spain
photoshop1234 [79]

Answer:

Philip II’s accomplishments originated him as a very well known king. Philip II was a hard-working ruler who was ushered in the Golden Age of Spain, being the most powerful nation. He was the most powerful monarch, he also helped the Catholic Church persecute Protestants during the Counter-Reformation. His father, Charles V, ceded the duchy of Milan (1540), the kingdoms of Naples and Sicily (1554), the Netherlands (1555), and Spain and its overseas empire (1556) to Philip II. In 1556, Phillip II made his first major decision as a monarch for his country. There was a Protestant uprising in the Netherlands, in 1567, he sent the Spanish army to put them down. Philip made use of the Spanish Inquisition to control his people. The Spanish Armada of 1588 was an attempt by Phillip of Spain to conquer England. Phillip, who had been married to Queen Mary, was angry that her sister, Queen Elizabeth had refused his proposal of marriage, he was also infuriated that England had returned to Protestantism. Phillip planned an invasion of England; he would send his Spanish Armada of 131 ships and 17,000 men to France. Here his armada would collect a further 16,000 Spanish soldiers who had been fighting in Holland. The fleet was then to cross the English and defeat the armies of Queen Elizabeth's England.

emmasim [6.3K]

Answer:

Checks and balances: The system of checks and balances in government was developed to ensure that no one branch of government would become too powerful. The framers of the U.S. Constitution built a system that divides power between the three branches of the U.S. government—legislative, executive and judicial—and includes various limits and controls on the powers of each branch.

Separation of powers: The system of separation of powers divides the tasks of the state into three branches: legislative, executive and judicial. These tasks are assigned to different institutions in such a way that each of them can check the others. As a result, no one institution can become so powerful in a democracy as to destroy this system.
