The structure of branches in goverment as proposed by Montesquieu, appealed democratic supporters for being a way to prevent goverment corruption in a system where people are sovereing. He states that, as evidence suggests, power invested in only one person or body is easily prone to be abussed. Therefore power must be distributed between the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches. These three can check each other to prevent tyranny and abuse.
