Most people know how it feels to be flawed, because no one is perfect in anything. Therefore, they have the sympathy with the character.

Flawed heroes are characters that the audience can easily relate to. This is because of two main factors. First, because the character is a hero, he tends to have values that he finds important, and he tends to be in a mission to achieve something that matters to him. This is something that people can relate to, as most people consider themselves mostly moral and believe that they are living for the pursuit of worthy aims. Second, people can relate because this character tends to be flawed, and this leads him to struggle. People are similarly flawed, and these flaws often lead them to be unable to achieve their goals and dreams.
