Edema in the legs is the accumulation of fluid at the interstitial level.

Among its main causes we find:

- Orthostatic: This is presented by the effect of gravity; It is common to see it in people who work all the time on their feet.

- Venous: Venous insufficiency does not allow there to be a good evacuation of the blood of the lower limbs leading to the accumulation of fluid in the legs.

- Renal: The decrease in renal excretion of liquids leads to large accumulation of fluids in the body, with formation of marked edema in the lower limbs.

- Lymphedema: The obstruction of the lymphatic vessels by other pathological processes such as infection leads to the formation of large accumulation of fluids in the lower limbs.
