Answer:

A=128

Step-by-step explanation:

First of all we need to graph f(x)=8x, (First picture)

Now we have to calculate the area enclosed by the graph of the function, the horizontal axis, and vertical lines at x_{1}=2 and x_{2}=6 ,

The area that we have to calculate is in pink (second picture).

The function is positive and the domain is [2,6] then we can calculate the area with this formula:

A=\int\limits^b_a {f(x)} \, dx,

In this case b=x_{2} , a=x_{1}

A=\int\limits^6_2 {8x} \, dx = 8\int\limits^6_2 {x} \, dx

The result of the integral is,

A=8\frac{x^{2}}{2}, but the integral is defined in [2,6] so we have to apply Barrow's rule,

<em>Barrow's rule:</em>

<em>If f is continuous in [a,b] and F is a primitive of f in [a,b], then:</em>

<em>\int\limits^b_a {f(x)} \, dx =F(b)-F(a)</em>

Applying Barrow's rule the result is:

A=8.\frac{6^{2} }{2}-8.\frac{2^{2} }{2}

A=8.\frac{36}{2} -8.\frac{4}{2}

A=144-16

A=128

a survery was given to people who owned a certain type of car. What percent of the people surveyed were completely satisfied wit
lara31 [8.8K]

Answer 55%

Step-by-step explanation:

you need to add the values together

160+1100+740=2000

To get the solution, we are looking for, we need to point out what we know.

1. We assume, that the number 2000 is 100% - because it's the output value of the task.

2. We assume, that x is the value we are looking for.

3. If 100% equals 2000, so we can write it down as 100%=2000.

4. We know, that x% equals 1100 of the output value, so we can write it down as x%=1100.

5. Now we have two simple equations:

1) 100%=2000

2) x%=1100

where left sides of both of them have the same units, and both right sides have the same units, so we can do something like that:

100%/x%=2000/1100

6. Now we just have to solve the simple equation, and we will get the solution we are looking for.

7. Solution for 1100 is what percent of 2000

100%/x%=2000/1100

(100/x)*x=(2000/1100)*x       - we multiply both sides of the equation by x

100=1.81818181818*x       - we divide both sides of the equation by (1.81818181818) to get x

100/1.81818181818=x

55=x

x=55

now we have:

1100 is 55% of 2000
