I am a Carbon atom and I took birth in the air. I had spend a memorable time in a molecule and there were two very nice oxygen atoms too. I just got into the air and I am very excited that I had my complete incoming box of electrons. I am a carbon atom and I have six electrons. Right now I am in a carbon dioxide molecule and I am just wondering in air. While i was enjoying my journey I waved to my friends like oxygen gas which is a molecule of two oxygen atoms.Oxygen atom is my best friend. I’ve heard stories of becoming solids and many different things when i was too young, but now I just like the air and I am loving it.

Answer:

I am carbon atom denoted by a symbol C and my atomic number is 6. I am the member of group 14 in the periodic table. I am tetravalent having 4 electrons to form covalent chemical bond with other atoms. I live in air along with two molecules of oxygen as carbon dioxide(CO₂).

Fixation: algea and terrestrial green plants take me as carbon dioxide from the external environment and convert me into polysacchride as their food in the process of photosynthesis.

Respiration: the consumers obtain the food prepared by the plants and obtain energy from it and again release me in the form of carbon dioxide.

Decomposition: in the decomposition process the animal, plant and human dead and decaying waste is converted from highly complex molecules to less complex molecules, i get produced along with two oxygen molecules (CO₂) in this process.

Fossil fuels: burning of fossil fuels like coal and petroleum leads to again my release as CO₂.

Which of the following is not a vascular plant?
conifer
fern
moss
flowering plant
scoundrel [369]
The answer is moss.

Mosses are nonvascular seedless plants. Nonvascular plants have simple tissues specialized for internal water transport.
On the other side, vascular plants have vascular tissue which consists of xylem and phloem. Xylem transport water and minerals from the root to the upper parts of the plant. Phloem transports food and nutrients from the leaves, where they are produced, to the growing or storage parts of the plants.

Who discovered that dna was the genetic material or transforming factor that could convert nonvirulent r-type streptococcus pneu
KatRina [158]
Discovery
In 1928 it was discovered by Frederick Griffith in an experiment generally known as transformation.

Experiment

In his experiment he considered two strains of streptococus pneumonia, one was R-type which was non-virulent and cause no disease in mice, other was virulent and S-type which cause disease and at last death of mice.
This experiment was comprised of four steps which are as follow:

Step 1:
First he injected living strain of S into mice, after sometime mouce died.

Step 2:
He injected living strain of R into mice, the mice alive as he did not got any disease.

Step 3:
He injected heat killed strain of S into mice and mice remain alive.

Step 4:
He mixed living R strain with heat killed S strain and then inject into mice. As a result the mice died.

Conclusion:
It was found that genetic material from heat killed S stain were transferred to living R (non-virulent) strain, as a result R become virulent and cause the death of mice.
