The regions were sucked up into the conflict and into numerous proxy wars. The region alignment was of major concern to the two powers each competing to check each other powers in the region and extend its interests. The middle east became more important because of its rich oil fields.

The Great Leap Forward:
Sav [38]

Answer:

d. All of these choices are correct.

Explanation:

The Great Leap Forward was a campaign launched by the Chinese Communist Party in 1958. The main goals of the campaign were to increase agricultural and industrial production, and to reduce social inequality. One way that the campaign achieved these goals was by forcing city dwellers to work on farms. This helped to increase agricultural production. The campaign also divided the population into communes or self-sustaining units. This helped to increase self-sufficiency and reduce social inequality. Finally, the Great Leap Forward gave women greater equality and responsibility outside the home. This helped to increase industrial production.

What required the colonies to trade only with england?
Marta_Voda [28]

The nascent British Empire followed a mercantilist economic policy, in which the goal was to enrich Britain, especially its already powerful bourgeoisie that exercised power since the Glorious Revolution. This policy was viewed with suspicion by the settlers because it directly harmed them by considering the colonies as mere producers of raw materials and markets for the productions of the metropolis.

The first reaction of American producers and merchants was smuggling, which became the most widespread tactic to avoid restrictions on trade with the French, Spanish or Dutch. Mercantilism aimed to achieve trade surpluses, so that gold and silver would be concentrated in London, the colonies, on the other hand, were captive markets for British industry. The government participated through the rights and taxes, and the rest went to the English merchants. The category of public administration that benefited most was the military, especially the British Navy.
