Random sampling is preferred because it is a group of randomly selected participants which increases generalizabity because it is not biased.

Explanation,

Random sampling is sampling method in which all members have an equal and independent chance of being selected.Each member of a subset has  has an an equal opportunity of being chosen as part of the sampling process.An example of Random sampling is total number of employees in an organisations is 400,to conduct a survey you sample 40 employees.Each employee has an equal chance of being selected because all employees which were chosen to part of survey were randomly selected.It is easier to assemble the sample and its has a fair way of collecting a sample.
