We can see the effect of Gideon V Wainwright today when we see a suspect receive the help of  a court attorney.

Explanation:

The background of Gideon V wainwright is the imprisonment of earl Gideon who was accused of theft. His request for a public attorney was turned down because the Florida law only allowed the appointment of public attorney to the accused in case of capital offence.  From prison he sent a handwritten Writ of certiorari to the Supreme court telling that he was denied the right guaranteed by the sixth amendment which asks the states to provide an attorney to defendants in criminal cases if they are not able to afford an attorney themselves.

The Supreme Court heard the case and decided in favor of Gideon and now defendants in criminal case has the right to get a public attorney if they are not able to appointing their own attorney.
