2x + 6 - 4 The reason I didn’t multiply the four by two was because the four is outside of the parenthesis. Right now, we can add like terms. Four is basically negative since it has a subtraction sign outside of it and six is positive ( this is the same as doing 6-4, I’m just calling it negative because as you get used to simplifying expressions, you have to think of it that way).
