Answer:

The answer is 4, Help return runaway slaves.

Explanation:

We can use the process of elimination here. Lets start with 1.

1)To end slavery, that was the Emancipation Proclamation, and even then, not all Americans did not vote for it. (The South)

2) Not this one, since why would all of a sudden, the Americans, aka the South, would return what is making their profits. Remember, the South made their money off of cash crops.

3) The North supported anti-Slavery, and by the issuing of the Emancipation Proclamation, President Lincoln opposed slavery. So why keep at least 3 slaves if half of the country and the commander in chief disagrees with it?

4) This is the one. Slaves began to run away after the Emancipation Proclamation. The South said that this was unfair, so they passed the Fugitive Slave Act. They even gave a cash reward to those who did return it. Since the slaves were escapees, they were considered fugitives by violating the Act. but the North ignored this rule, sheltering the former slaves. So for the most part, this Act affected mostly the South.

Why did stalin and hitler become allies in the summer of 1939?
Colt1911 [192]
Both wanted land in Poland, but didn’t want to go to war with each other, yet. So, they signed a non-aggression pact, not an alliance, saying that neither would go to war with each other for ten years, nor would they assist anyone at war with the other. Of course, that lasted two years before Hitler decided that Stalin had to go.

Under what circumstances, to Locke, might it be necessary for the people to dissolve their government and start anew? Be detaile
otez555 [7]
Locke believed that it was necessary for the people to dissolve their government whenever it became tyrannical; for instance if a small group of elite people were making decisions without the consent of the electorate. This was highly influential to Jefferson and the Founders prior to the American Revolution.

How did the institution of slavery expand in the south in the early 1800s and what were living conditions like for slaves during
exis [7]

When the Declaration of Independence was drafted in 1776 the founding fathers failed to establish slavery. Some of them were slave owners.

The northern states took after the war of independence many measures against slavery. For example Vermont banned it in 1777 and Massachusetts in 1783.

In the southern states, on the contrary, accelerated progress was made in the institutionalization and expansion of slavery.

The Congress passed in 1793 a law against slaves fleeing their masters. In 1808 the slave trade was banned and in 1809 the participation in it of Americans was forbidden; but slavery was not forbidden.

When the aboriginal territories and those previously colonized by Spain and France were annexed to the national territory, (annexation of Kentucky, 1792, Tennessee, 1796, Ohio, 1803, French Louisiana, 1803, which includes Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, etc., Florida, 1819) slave activity was consolidated in the new southern states of the Union. In 1820 the Masson-Nixon line was drawn, establishing the separation between slave states to the south and non-slave states to the north.

The combination of the prohibition of trafficking but the non-prohibition of the practice of slavery brought with it the smuggling of slaves and with it a large increase in the price of slaves. This influenced in a better treatment and care on the part of the masters to its slaves.

In general there were two types of slaves, those of household service and plantation workers. The latter had to perform approximately 16 hours of daily work, lived in not very well-built huts and ate. The food was monotonous: salted pork, a bushel of cornmeal and molasses, sometimes vegetables and, when they bought or stolen, a chicken.

WILL MARK BRAINLESS!!! The Gettysburg Address is a remarkable speech. It is only 272 words long and took only two minutes to del
xxMikexx [17]
Both speeches focus on the history of fighting for a cause leading up to the Civil War. The US was built on revolutionary spirit and men's lives lost for the bigger idea of freedom. The deaths of the men will mean something because the cause of the war means something.

These addresses revitalized the Union effort and reminded the men of the long history they were now a part of. They stand on the side of freedom and that will be meaningful. This dedicate brought up morale in Union forces.
