Under Suleyman, the Ottomans saw great advancement in the arts, architecture, and law. He also expanded the empire into Eastern Europe. The Ottoman Empire created a complex and efficient government system. Ottoman sultans also promoted religious tolerance.
One effect of Ottoman expansion was that almost all goods traded between merchants from Europe and Asia passed through Ottoman hands.
There seemed to be two Americas because each side was very different. The east was more urban. It had more cities. The west was more rural and agricultural.
