Hey there!

It's all about the phonics. Some letters make different sounds with different suffixes and prefixes. The "Ar" in front of the "kansas" may change the sound of the word.

Hope this helped, have a great day :)

How does the characterization of Cyril contribute to the satire in "The Storyteller."?
Furkat [3]

The correct answer is A: Through his constant questions.

In "The Storyteller," by Saki (H. H. Munro), Cyril keeps irritating Aunt and making difficult questions during a train journey. She is so annoyed that she decides to tell the children an unoriginal story, which does not satisfy them. As a result, the Bachelor joins the conversation and tells them a story that does not involve a happy ending, which Aunt finds improper and the children amusing.

H. H. Munro, also known by his pen name "Saki", was born in Burma but had to move to England after the sudden death of his mother. His stories are usually a criticism and a satire of the Edwardian England in which he grew up .In "The Storyteller" he satirizes society's values when it comes to raising and educating children. He uses the constant questions posed by Cyril to contribute to the satire of the story and to allude to the theme of questioning authority.

How does swaniker portray the relationship between leadership and institutions ?
Lina20 [59]

My hope is that half of them will become the entrepreneurs that we need, who will create these jobs that we need, and the other half will go into government and the nonprofit sector, and they will build the institutions that we need. But they won't just learn academics. They will also learn how to become leaders, and they will develop their skills as entrepreneurs. So think of this as Africa's Ivy League, but instead of getting admitted because of your SAT scores or because of how much money you have or which family you come from, the main criteria for getting into this university will be what is the potential that you have for transforming Africa?

12:21But what we're doing is just one group of institutions. We cannot transform Africa by ourselves. My hopeis that many, many other home-grown African institutions will blossom, and these institutions will all come together with a common vision of developing this next generation of African leaders, generation four, and they will teach them this common message: create jobs, build our institutions.

12:51Nelson Mandela once said, "Every now and then, a generation is called upon to be great. You can be that great generation." I believe that if we carefully identify and cultivate the next generation of African leaders, then this generation four that is coming up will be the greatest generation that Africa and indeed the entire world has ever seen.

Which sentence is the hook in this introductory paragraph? For the first time in decades, Baby Boomers have been outnumbered by
Rainbow [258]
The best answer here is A: For the first time in decades, Baby Boomers have been outnumbered by another group--the Millennials. An important thing to keep in mind when you are discussing hooks is that they always come at the beginning of a paper or paragraph. They are called hooks because they are meant to hook the reader. If you present them elsewhere, then they don't really serve their purpose. Knowing this, it is easy to use process of elimination to determine that the answer with the first sentence in it is correct.
