Answer:

B) The French wanted to ensure that they had control over the actions of other, less desirable countries.

Explanation:

I'm sure B is correct.

France eventually was able to expand its territory into Africa. In the 1800s, however, they would also establish colonies in Southeast Asia. And goals of French imperialism in Southeast Asia would include ensuring the spread of Christianity and Western ideas, acquiring natural resources such as tin, coal, and spices, and establishing trade in China and East Asia. So creating more trade routes and options for France. And eventually, France would gradually establish political and economic influence in Vietnam.

So in 1802, we see the French help the Nguyen dynasty come to power. And in 1857, after the death of several missionaries, France eventually invaded Vietnam

The primary reason why France wanted to regulate other countries’ trade is B) The French wanted to ensure that they had control over the actions of other, less desirable countries.

I got 100 in test.

Why is Attila the Hun a controversial historical figure?
Keith_Richards [23]

Answer:

D. Historians believe that he is a myth rather than a real historical person.

Explanation:

Attila the Hun Attila the Hun (405-453), also sometimes known with the nickname as Attila the Scourge of God (Flagellum Dei) or simply Attila was the most powerful king of the Huns. He reigned over what was then Europe's largest empire, from 434 until his death. His empire stretched from Germany and the Netherlands to the Ural river and from the Danube River to Poland and Estonia. During his rule, he was among the most dire of the Western and Eastern Roman Empire's enemies: he invaded the Balkans twice and besieged Constantinople in the second invasion; he marched through Gaul (modern day France) as far as Orleans before being defeated at the Battle of Chalons; and he drove the western emperor Valentinian III from his capital at Ravenna in 452. He was regarded as sacker of cities. In the year 453 Attilla was at his wedding party, got drunk, hit his head, and chocked on his own blood this is how Attilla died a terrible and unfair death.

Hope this helps ;)

What incident in the Gulf of Tonkin caused a crisis for President Lyndon B. Johnson? A. An American ship fired on a South Vietna
STALIN [3.7K]

Answer:

B. A North Vietnamese ship fired on an American ship.

Explanation:

While on a spionage mission, a US electronic surveillance ship, the Maddox, was attacked by three North Vietnamese torpedo boats on August 2, 1964. The Maddox shot warning shots and asked for help. F-8 Jets were sent from a nearby carrier; one Vietnamese boat was badly damaged. The next day, the actions escalated and the American response was stronger. In the following days, president Lyndon B. Johnson asked for and got a Senate resolution (the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution) that gave him powers to fight a war in Vietnam.
