A scientist wants to begin making a DNA fingerprint, but she has only a very small DNA sample. What should her next step be
azamat

For obtaining an adequate amount of DNA samples for DNA fingerprinting, polymerase chain reaction (PCR) can be used.

Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) is a technique that is used to amplify the DNA sample. The steps included in PCR are:-

1. Denaturation of the double-stranded DNA (at around 95°C)

2. Annealing of the primers to each of the single-stranded DNA templates ( at around 65°C)

3. Extension or elongation of the primers by considering every single-stranded DNA as a template. This elongation is carried out by Taq polymerase (at around 72°C).

With each cycle of PCR, the DNA sample is increased by 2ⁿ. Here, 'n' represents the number of PCR cycles.

Advocard [28]

The statement is true that T-cells are a type of immune cell system that recognizes pathogens in the body.

T-cells are the lymphocytes that are involved in providing acquired immunity to the body. They can recognize the pathogens presented by the antigen presenting cells. There are two types of t cells: helper T cells and Cytotoxic T cells.

Immune cells are the cells of the immune system that are involved in protecting the body from infection, allergies and foreign pathogens. There are several immune cells that perform several functions. The example of such cells are: phagocytes, lymphocytes, dendritic cells, etc.

Sundews and wolf spiders compete with each other for flies to eat. How would the sudden decrease in the size of the wolf spider
mylen [45]

Answer:

The correct option is A) The sundew population would increase.

Explanation:

Organisms in a community interact with one another in some way or the other.

In the above-mentioned example, sundews and wolf spiders of a community are in competition with each other for food resources. If the population of one of the species i.e wolf spider decreases this means that there would be lesser competition for food resources. As a result, there will be more food present for the sundews. Hence, the population of sundews would increase if the population of wolf spider decreases.
