Answer:

The lac Z gene present in the bacteria is the main component of the lac operon. This gene codes for the enzyme known as β-galactosidase. This gene helps in the breakdown of the galactoside.

This gene is important to determine the transformant cells from the non transformant cells in the genetic engineering. The substrate used is X gal and IPTG. The non transformed cells has the functionally active  β-galactosidase gene and results in the formation of blue colonies. The non transformed cells has non functional β-galactosidase gene that do not reduce the substrate and result in the formation of white colonies.

Answer:

Chemoautotrophs.

Explanation:

Autotrophs may be defined as the organism that can prepare their own food with the help of chemical and light. Two types of autotrophs are chemoautotroph and photoautotrophs.

Chemoautotrophs are the organisms that can prepare their own food with the help of chemicals. The bacteria living around deep sea and hot water vents are considered as chemoautotrophs because they prepare their food with the help of carbon present in their surroundings.

Thus, the correct answer is option (A).

goldfiish [28.3K]

Answer:

C. primary cell wall → plasma membrane → cytoplasm → vacuole.

Explanation:

Every molecule or particle which enters into a cell, it must pass through several cellular structure at different level means it also depends on the type of molecule like size, shape, and nature (characteristics). On the surface of root cell, potassium ion pass through the primary cell wall which is most outer layer of plant cell, then it passes the second layer called plasma membrane, in the plasma membrane cytoplasm is present and when potassium ion reaches the cytoplasm then it will enter into the vacuole present in cytoplasm.

If the stem of a plant is bent or snapped, why does the part above the bend usually die, even if it is propped up with a support
Georgia [21]
There are inner part of the stem and outer part of the stem; in a plant the inner part supports the movement of the water and nutrients. You stop the flow of the vital elements of plant growth when you snap the stem and this is the reason why the plant die due to starvation of the nutrients.
