Answer:

The lac Z gene present in the bacteria is the main component of the lac operon. This gene codes for the enzyme known as β-galactosidase. This gene helps in the breakdown of the galactoside.

This gene is important to determine the transformant cells from the non transformant cells in the genetic engineering. The substrate used is X gal and IPTG. The non transformed cells has the functionally active  β-galactosidase gene and results in the formation of blue colonies. The non transformed cells has non functional β-galactosidase gene that do not reduce the substrate and result in the formation of white colonies.

What accounts for the movement of water up the veins of a tall tree?
stiv31 [10]
First of all, the cohesive and adhesive properties of the water molecules fascilitate this. Water molecules stick together and with the walls of the vessels, creating a column of water which doesn t break easily. Moreover the xylem vessels of the tree are very narrow increasing the pressure. Finally, transpiration is taking place as water from the leaves evaporate, thus a continuous osmotic gradient is being created, causing water to be drawn up the tree

Clear access routes into and out of chemical zones used to avoid contamination are called
sp2606 [1]
Access Control Points

They are restrictions points that enforce regulations and guidelines on decontamination when exiting the sites and ensuring adherence safety standards when entering the site. The regulation are usually, as standard practice, conspicuously posted at the Access Control Points.
Access Control Points are usually set up at the periphery of the Exclusion Zones, and ideally, there should be a separate entrance and exit Control Access Point.
