Hi Geny5,

Your Question:

In one complete paragraph explain the significance of that artifact or location to its related period. Make sure you explain in your own words.

Answer:

The Padrao dos Descobrimentos monument is in Portugal in a city named Lisbon. The reason they built is was just for the 1940 World Fair. They built it with wood and plaster and wanted to tear it down after the fair ended. They decided not to tear it down because they wanted to celebrate the 500th aniversary of Henry the Navigator. In the statue Henry The Navigator is the figure in the front. They rebuilt the states with concrete.

Hope This Helps!

The military are also the few people in the country who are regularly fed. Civilians and especially people in small towns and work camps aren't so lucky.
A while back they enacted the 'lets only eat 2 meals a day' act. On top of all that, recent weather problems such as floods and droughts have put huge stress on an already inadequate agriculture model. U.N food shipments labelled 'a gift' are rounded up and by the government and then sold to their own people. Most countries and agencies are getting to frustrated like Redcross etc and are choosing not to get involved.
