The answer is option A "a belief that the United States had a duty or destiny to expand westward." When the Manifest Destiny began the settlers thought that God himself told them to expand, so they though that God gave them a duty to expand westward and many people thought it was their destiny to carry out God's will.

Why did the sale of indulgences become a critical poimt of focus during the renasaissance but not during the middle ages
AURORKA [14]

The focus on selling indulgences became so important because when the Renaissance period came, the church was losing its power, so people were able to freely buy things they wanted, even if they didn't needed them, and to not fear about being charged, beaten up, or even end up dead just because the church didn't thought its appropriate. Also, a very big factor was the fact that the people in this period, in general, had more money than the people in the Middle Ages, so the increased financial power enabled them to buy things that they found interesting but were not necessities.

Finish this simile<br> "The Continental army's victory in the American Revolution was like..."
S_A_V [24]

Well, a simile can include "like" or "as," so you could say, "The Continental Army's victory in the American Revolution was as powerful as a bolt of lightning." Unless you have to use "like," then it could be, "The Continental Army's victory  in the American Revolution was like a power-punch to their enemies."

Hope this helps!
