In the 1930s women operated electrcal tools for the first time in this period. In the 1940s cosmetologists were needed at a max; women wanted simple haircuts due to WW11. In the 1950s women wanted different looks for their husbands as they came home from war. Cosmetology took off in the 1950s because of the better wages and respect in the community.Accreditation standards have now become more rigorous because of the training and experience it requires.
